Peabody Youth TV

Peabody Youth TV is a series of classes designed to lead and inspire young media makers and encourage critical thinking and viewing. We introduce students ages 11-14 to writing, directing and editing multi-media projects including film, televison and photography. PYTV empowers kids to bring their creative concept to completion. Since it’s inception in 2011, PYTV has taught over 200 students how to make creative and unique media.

Classes run for 13 weeks in the spring and fall, and 5-day long camps in the summer. Registration is done through our partners at the Peabody Parks and Recreation Department.

Work Study Program

In 2012, Peabody TV launched a working internship program in partnership with Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. Each year Peabody TV hires PVMHS, Bishop Fenwick, and Peabody Learning Academy students to cover local events and produce education-related programming for Channel 8.

The Work Study program gives students hands-on experience in the broadcasting and production field to build their media education and resume for college.

Internship Opportunities

Peabody TV partners with local high schools, colleges and universities to offer unpaid internship opportunities tailored to meet students’ academic and graduation requirements. The three focus areas are production, post-production, and sports/multi-media journalism.

Our Internship Program introduces students to various career opportunities in the media industry to help guide and influence future education and career related choices.
